Perry Zirpoli: Final Entry

This journal was very inspiring. It showed all the hardships of war. This book is very heart warming because it shows how horrible war is. This book is full of action and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Civil War.

Julian Castillo

The book I read was most interesting, with alot of adventure. It had humor, and sad parts in the story. It deals with a man traveling the world with a journal to write what happens in his life, his adventure. His father would tell him that, the only place to get a tasty peach is in California. He has to travel very far to get to california. He meets people to help on his journey, to california.

Catherine's Second Entry

I haven't finished the "Dear America" book yet but the last I can remember was that Hattie's new best friend had gotten married, Aunt June had given birth to a new born baby, and they finally reached Oregon. The book teaches you about life and death and the hard times traveling such a long time ago. The deaths and the trail were probably the hardest things to go through. I would say that it was a very well written book but it mostly was boring. There wasn't a lot of excitement so it was slightly dreary. The trail must have been the same way so I'm sure not everyday there would be something exciting. All and all it was a pretty good book but not exactly at the top of my list of books.

whitneys second post. (:

So the continuation of this story of "A Line in the Sand" as the people working very hard. They are all very very very poor. They start gettin very sick and tired of working soo much all the time . Their houses were made out of loft , woodships, chemney, dogtrots, mud, grass, and logo. Some people wore big sombararo hats. Above all i really didnt like this book at all. All they talk about is poor people working and the past.

Ryan Villadarez: Final Reflection

The diary of Biddy Owens has been a very inspiring book to read. This book shows the courage and bravery of African Americans during the time of segregation. They did what they loved and they didn't care what other people thought. They have had a great experience playing baseball and they are a very good team and they always put everything they have into everything they do. The Black Barons had a great love for baseball. They faced a lot of segregation but still played with all their heart. They are a very inspiring team because they teach you not to give up on something because of segregation and that all people are equal. This is a very inspiring book and I would recommend this book to everyone.
