This is a wonderful story about a rookie soldier by the name of Scott Pendleton Collins going to his first war. This time was during the Civil War. The book itself plays as his journal. Scott goes through various war times and engages the reader his feelings. It is a truly intelligent feel for readers who are into these kinds of books.
