When Will This Cruel War be over?

This was about a young girl named Emma Simpson. She was a girl who lived in the time of the civil war. Her father and brother was off at the war thet where fighting in that war. The mother of Emma took over the duties of her father while he was off at war.She helped her mama around the house. Later in the story her brother died in the war. It was right before Christmas! They would have usually eaten ham, turkey, mutton, bacon, pies, cakes, cookies, candies, eggnog at that time of the year. But because of the war, Christmas was cancelled!!! She met a guy she really liked and the guy really liked her.She started to talk to him over mail because he went to the war to fight. Her mama died cause of a fever.
