Camille's Entry
I've been reading the Dear America book, The Winter of Red Snow, and so far, it's been a good book. It's talking about how a girl and her neighborhood during the Revolutionary War, and the way they lived was pretty bad. I guess I never really realized how bad conditions were during those times; we take things for granted way to many times these days. Even the girl's family itself has a hard life, and they didn't know if their baby brother would live or not. The soldiers coming made their lives even harder, with the requirements to give soldiers supplies, and the soldiers eventually stealing ordinary citizens' items. In a sense the army was slowly taking over their town. The army itself was slowly breaking apart, with deserters and traitors. The winter was hard for the families and the soldiers, with the citizens doing everything they can to help the soldiers, giving them a good portion of the citizens' own belongings. I can see that the life during that time was very difficult. The girl's life was hard, but it's enough to keep me reading. :)
