The Journal of James Edmond Pease

So Far In the Story
This journal is all about thee lives of the Union soldiers. The group of soldiers in this journal are the G Company of the 122nd Regiment. In the this section the Yankees have seen little battle and are inexperienced. The one job they really do is protect the supply train. The unit is eager to see battle. The story mostly takes place at their camp. It expresses the hardships and live of the real civil war union soldier. It talks about the shortages of food and the many casualties of war.

My Thoughts
This journal has taught me about the real soldier. It has so far showed me how they lived and the feelings. It shows not only the brave soldier but the one full of emotions. It shows how they felt fear just as we do. It shows the excitement, the hardships, and adrenalin of war. It shows how war is always fought for the same reason. It shows also how the hardships and difficulties of the war happen everyday in the life of every person. It shows the friendships and loses that every person experiences during his or his life.
